Basketball Recap: Wynot Comes Up Short

It was fun while it lasted, but Wynot's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They lost 62-36 to the Homer Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since December 7, 2023.

Leading Homer to victory were Alexandra Albrecht and Lilly Harris. Albrecht went 8 of 14 on her way to 20 points along with five boards and five steals, while Harris went 7 of 10 en route to 17 points and four steals. The contest was Harris' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Overgaard, who posted four points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wynot fell to 3-1. As for Homer, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Wynot will venture away from home to square off against Wausa on Friday. As for Homer, they will head out to challenge Lawton-Bronson at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Homer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Lawton-Bronson likes a good challenge.
