Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Takes a Loss

Cheyenne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Basic Wolves. The Desert Shields were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Cheyenne took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-17, 26-24.

Hunter Perkins paced Cheyenne's offense, picking up six kills. Perkins got some help from Jayden Belanger and his eight assists. Perkins was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Luke Dennett was the offensive standout of the matchup as he had 14 assists and three digs.

Cheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Basic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheyenne will challenge Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on March 13th. As for Basic, they will face off against Green Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
