Game recap: Central High School Football Team beats Jackson

PAGELAND, S.C. - the Eagles had a big 21-point first quarter on Saturday, sealing a 37-0 victory over Jackson (Kershaw, S.C.).

Central scored on a touchdown run by Ryheem Lockart, a punt return touchdown by Debias Tyson and a Lockart touchdown run in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Lockart in the first quarter, CHS led 21-0 at the half.

The Pageland school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Shammar Sutton.

With the win Central extended its winning streak to six games. CHS defeated the Braves 35-28 last week.

The Eagles' most effective player was Lockart. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.



Central came in allowing an average of 21.2 points per game this season. CHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Volunteers well below the 24.6 points it had been averaging per game.

A 34-0 Central victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Jackson, which notched a 48-3 victory over Indian Land in its previous outing.
