Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Triumphs

After losing to Mount Calvary Christian Academy the last time they met, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Warriors on Friday.

Despite the loss, Mount Calvary Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Riley Tuten dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tuten has scored all season. Dakota Honeycutt also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.

Coming up, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy will head out to take on Coastal Brigade at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Unity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
