Basketball Recap: Valley Vista Comes Up Short

Valley Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Brophy College Prep Broncos, falling 66-40. While losing is never fun, the Monsoon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Broncos are ranked 26th).

Valley Vista's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Brophy College Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Valley Vista will square off against West Point at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Brophy College Prep, they will face off against Desert Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brophy College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Desert Vista likes a good challenge.
