Southridge and Mt. Vernon pushed the score to 55-35 the last time they played Mt. Vernon, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Raiders enjoyed a cozy 21-6 win over the Wildcats. The Raiders pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Cooper Sherman was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 53 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
