Basketball Recap: Amir Sadeghi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Torrey Pines over Mission Bay

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Torrey Pines can now relate to. They fell just short of the Mission Bay Buccaneers by a score of 44-42 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since December 9, 2023.

Torrey Pines lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amir Sadeghi, who went 6-for-8 en route to 14 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Cody Shen was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and three steals.

Torrey Pines' defeat dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Mission Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.

Torrey Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mission Bay, they will challenge Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Mission Bay surely won't give up without a fight.
