Mauldin hadn't done well against Lexington recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Mavericks skirted past the Wildcats 7-5. For the Mavericks, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Mauldin let Jacob Howe and Ethan Sanchelli run wild. Howe went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Sanchelli went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Sanchelli has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Cox, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Mauldin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
