The Jasper Pirates will square off against the Norfork Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Jasper knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Norfork likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Jasper got the win against County Line by a conclusive 15-1. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Ty Williams and Grady Hankins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Williams tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hankins pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Williams got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Hankins got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Williams has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Blake Williams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Max Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Norfork narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Scranton 4-2.
Jasper pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Norfork, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.
Jasper came out on top in a nail-biter against Norfork in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 10-8. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
