Football Recap: Malachi Peak Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cornell

After losing to Cornell the last time they met, California decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans snuck past the Raiders with a 36-32 victory on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead California to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachi Peak, who rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Brandon Meier, who rushed for 46 yards and a pair of TDs.

California's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. In that department, Noah Layhue was the leader with two sacks.

California has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Cornell, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, California will head out on the road to face off against Waynesburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornell, they will host Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
