Basketball Game Preview: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Southwest EC Eagles

The Sweetwater Red Devils will take on the Southwest EC Eagles in a tournament on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sweetwater fought the good fight in their overtime match against Mount Miguel on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to the Matadors. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Southwest EC was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 77-49 defeat at the hands of Mar Vista.

Sweetwater's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southwest EC, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Sweetwater was able to grind out a solid victory over Southwest EC in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, winning 70-57. Does Sweetwater have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwest EC turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
