Baseball Recap: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Victorious

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy posted their closest victory since March 21st on Wednesday. They skirted past the Tanque Verde Hawks 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Hawks on April 3rd, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

John Sunukjian made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Pusch Ridge Christian Academy is 8-4 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-7 otherwise. Sunukjian was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Sunukjian wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Sawyer Allen, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Tanque Verde, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-6-1.

Coming up, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will take on Northwest Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Crusaders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. Tanque Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
