Basketball Recap: Sanderson Comes Up Short

Sanderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders and fell 66-25. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Sanderson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abby Stephens, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stella Puckett, who scored seven points.

Cardinal Gibbons' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlotte Fusco, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jaclyn Deis, who earned 11 points.

Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Sanderson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-12 loss against Athens Drive on the 31st. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-23 win against Enloe on the 31st.
