Baseball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. John Glenn Little Muskies

The Zanesville Blue Devils will head out to challenge the John Glenn Little Muskies at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither Zanesville nor John Glenn posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Wednesday, Zanesville came up short against Sheridan and fell 5-2. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canon Mercer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Darnes, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between John Glenn and Indian Valley, and Indian Valley kept the tradition alive. The Little Muskies lost 10-1 to the Braves on Tuesday.

Zane Townsend was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

John Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Zanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Zanesville suffered a grim 18-4 defeat to John Glenn in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
