Baseball Recap: Mooresville Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Mooresville won against Lake Norman on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Blue Devils beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 on Tuesday.

Mooresville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Southern Smith-Tilley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Smith-Tilley has posted since back in March. Connor Robertson was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Mooresville is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Norman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-9.
