Casa Grande got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They blew past the Maricopa Rams 62-42 on Thursday. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season.

Casa Grande's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dewayne Haygood, who went 8 for 20 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Gavin Lewis was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Casa Grande was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Casa Grande has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
