Basketball Recap: Ennis Takes a Loss

Ennis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Midlothian Panthers, falling 64-27. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1019th, while the Panthers are ranked 215th).

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makenzie Bodine, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Jhazmyne Jackson, who scored six points.

Ennis' defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Midlothian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Ennis Lions take on the Terrell Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian and Red Oak will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
