Softball Recap: Fulton City Comes Up Short

Fulton City had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it six. They lost 23-0 to the Hickman County Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Hickman County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5. That looming 23-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Hickman County's part, the team relied heavily on Audrey Tucker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Tucker has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Kaylee Britton also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fulton City will venture away from home to challenge Greenfield at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hickman County, they will head out on the road to face off against Fulton County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Pilots will have lost four straight heading into Monday's match.
