Basketball Game Preview: Lakewood Cougars vs. Lynden Lions

Lakewood is 1-8 against Lynden since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lakewood Cougars challenge the Lynden Lions at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated (Lakewood has three wins , while Lynden has ten dating back to last season).

On Friday, everything went Lakewood's way against Oak Harbor as Lakewood made off with a 69-46 victory.

Meanwhile, Lynden strolled past Squalicum with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 54-36.

Lynden pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.7 points per game. As for Lakewood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Lakewood came up short against Lynden in their previous matchup back in February, falling 62-53. Can Lakewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
