Recap: Cox Mill Chargers vs. Lake Norman Wildcats
The Cox Mill Chargers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 79-58 loss at the hands of Lake Norman. While losing is never fun, Cox Mill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Lake Norman is ranked third).
Cox Mill's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Carswell, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Brown, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Cox Mill has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Lake Norman, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cox Mill on the road again on Wednesday and play against A.L. Brown at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Lake Norman, they will face off against West Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Gianni Vines and Santana Lynch.
