Baseball Recap: Conrad Weiser Comes Up Short

Conrad Weiser extended their losing streak to 15 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Muhlenberg Muhls. If the Scouts were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Muhls when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Muhlenberg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

For Muhlenberg's part, they got a great performance from Ethan Weiler as he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave Weiler a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eli Keller, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since April 1st. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Moody, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Conrad Weiser will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Fleetwood at 4:00 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Scouts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Muhlenberg, they will be playing at home against Exeter Township at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Muhls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
