Volleyball Recap: Savannah Savages vs. Notre Dame de Sion Storm
After flying high against Maryville on Thursday, Savannah came back down to earth. The Savages fell just short of the Notre Dame de Sion Storm by a score of 3-2 on Friday. While the Savages didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Storm 25-21 in the first set.
Savannah took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12.
Taylor Hilsabeck paced Savannah's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hilsabeck got some help from Reece Gould and her 39 assists. Meara Delaney controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Savannah's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Notre Dame de Sion, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 8-20.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Savannah will venture away from home to square off against Sacred Heart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame de Sion, they will face off against St. Teresa's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
