Baseball Game Preview: Bells Panthers vs. Pottsboro Cardinals

For the second straight game, Bells will face off against Pottsboro. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Bells Panthers face off against Pottsboro Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bells 3.4, Pottsboro 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Bells is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Pottsboro just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 5, 2024.

For Pottsboro's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Humphreys, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Humphreys has posted since back in May of 2024.

Pottsboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bells, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-3.
