Basketball Recap: Milford Beats Archbishop Mcnicholas for Their Third Straight Win

Milford waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They managed a 50-46 victory over the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Rockets are ranked 176th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Violet Shuluga, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Shuluga is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Chadwell, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Milford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Milford will face off against West Clermont at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Milford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Archbishop McNicholas, they will square off against Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
