Basketball Recap: L'anse's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

L'Anse can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They took down the Hancock Bulldogs 70-52. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 60-35 victory back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead L'Anse to victory, but perhaps none more so than Talan Larson, who went 7-for-8 en route to 19 points along with six assists and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Larson a new career-high in field goal percentage (88%). Sam Lee was another key player, going 9-for-20 to rack up 21 points and five steals.

L'Anse smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

L'Anse's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Hancock, they are on a 24-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-22.

L'Anse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-51 loss against Baraga on the 26th. Hancock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
