Softball Recap: Union Grove Christian Victorious

Union Grove Christian proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Oak Level Baptist Academy Conquerors a 2-0 shutout. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 15-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Morgan Donovant made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She also allowed five hits, marking her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

The win got Union Grove Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Oak Level Baptist Academy, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

Union Grove Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against True Gospel Christian on the 18th. As for Oak Level Baptist Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-3 win against Cramerton Christian Academy on the 21st.
