Football Game Preview: Camarillo Scorpions vs. Oaks Christian Lions + Official Tickets

Camarillo is 0-4 against Oaks Christian since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Scorpions will head out to challenge the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Camarillo has given up an average of 30.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Camarillo is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pacifica on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Scorpions lost 42-16 to the Tritons. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Tritons are ranked 60th).

Although Camarillo took the loss, they still got scores from Jakaylen Robinson and Ernie Arzola.

Meanwhile, Oaks Christian fell victim to St. Bonaventure and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost to the Seraphs on the road by a 19-0 margin. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Lions haven't been shut out since back in August.

Even if they lost, Oaks Christian's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Alifeleti Tuihalamaka and Joseph Peko, who racked up four sacks between them. Tuihalamaka also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11.

Oaks Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Camarillo, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-6.

Camarillo was dealt a bruising 50-0 loss at the hands of Oaks Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Lions' Deshonne Redeaux, who rushed for 165 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
