After flying high against Lake Minneola on Monday, Foundation Academy came back down to earth. The Lions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Howell Silverhawks on Tuesday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Foundation Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-17, 25-15, 25-17.

Haley Higgins paced Foundation Academy's offense, picking up 18 kills. Higgins got some help from Geiliany Del Valle and her 31 assists. Del Valle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Foundation Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Lake Howell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Foundation Academy will be playing at home against International Community at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Howell, they will face off against Lake Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
