Preview: Union vs. West Marshall
After two weeks on the road, West Marshall is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Union at 7:30 PM. West Marshall strut in flaunting some offensive muscle with an average of 30.88 points per game.
If West Marshall were riding high off their 35-3 takedown of Nevada two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. West Marshall ended up on the wrong side of a painful 13-34 walloping at Benton's hands. West Marshall's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Union might be getting used to good results now that the team has four wins in a row. Last Friday, they narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Nevada 23-20. The margin of victory was a little narrower than expected seeing as Union are ranked 118 places ahead of Nevada in the state rankings.
Union's win lifted them to 6-2 while West Marshall's loss dropped them down to 6-2. We'll see if Union's success rolls on or if West Marshall are able to steal their positive momentum.
