Soccer Game Preview: Geneva vs. Metea Valley

The Geneva Vikings are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Metea Valley Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Geneva will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against Aurora Central Catholic on Tuesday. Geneva never let Aurora Central Catholic get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Considering Geneva's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Metea Valley entered their tilt with Wheaton North on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Falcons. Lily Senese had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Metea Valley.

The victory got Geneva back to even at 1-1-1. As for Metea Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
