Softball Game Preview: Eaton Eagles vs. Crescent Tigers

The Eaton Eagles will challenge the Crescent Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Eaton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Ansonia on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Meredith Pieratt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Julie Schrimper was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Statzer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Crescent faced off against Daniel on Wednesday. Crescent blew past Daniel 20-3. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
