Football Recap: Flint Hill Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Alexander Mahmood and Ty Harris

Flint Hill extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-5. They received a blow as they fell 45-28 to the Trinity Episcopal Titans. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Titans are ranked eighth).

Ty Harris and Alexander Mahmood certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Harris picked up 110 receiving yards and three TDs, while Mahmood threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. Harris got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 57 yards.

As for Trinity Episcopal, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.6 points on average this season.

Carson Parks produced another solid effort rushing for 222 yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 124.2 rushing yards per game. Davion Brown got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flint Hill will take on Bullis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity Episcopal, they will face off against Anacostia at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
