Oasis Academy fell victim to West Wendover and their airtight pitching crew last Saturday. They came up short against the Wolverines, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bighorns' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
For West Wendover's part, Aidien Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Rodriguez has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances.
