Baseball Recap: Troy's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Troy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 9-4 in the process. They blew past the Wyalusing Valley Rams 13-3. Considering the Trojans have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Camden Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Allen was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brendan Gilliland, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reed Palmer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

As for Wyalusing Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Wyalusing Valley's side, Kenny Mapes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Logan Norton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Looking ahead, Troy will head out on the road to face off against Mansfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wyalusing Valley, they will be playing at home against South Williamsport at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
