Basketball Recap: T.W. Andrews Skates Past North Forsyth with Ease

While T.W. Andrews didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 78-49 victory over the North Forsyth Vikings. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Vikings are ranked 448th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the defeat, North Forsyth saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Peyton Thomas went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerry Smith, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and five assists.

T.W. Andrews has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for North Forsyth, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

T.W. Andrews wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-57 loss against West Forsyth on the 4th. As for North Forsyth, they will square off against Walkertown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Forsyth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
