Baseball Recap: Harnett Central Gets the Win

Harnett Central saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Arendell Parrott Academy Patriots by a score of 8-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Wesley Barefoot made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Sears, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Keoki Monte was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Harnett Central lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Harnett Central's record now sits at 12-8. As for Arendell Parrott Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.
