Preview: Putnam City Pirates vs. Edmond Memorial Bulldogs
Putnam City is 2-7 against Edmond Memorial since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Putnam City Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Edmond Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Putnam City, who comes in off a win.
Putnam City took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They breezed by Grant at home to the tune of 57-29.
Edmond Memorial kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 41-33 to Charles Page.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Janiyah Williams, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Johnson, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Putnam City's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Edmond Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Putnam City took a serious blow against Edmond Memorial in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 76-36. Can Putnam City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
