Baseball Recap: Marianapolis Prep Takes a Loss

Marianapolis Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-1 to Dexter Southfield.

Marianapolis Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Foskett, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Nick Gouveia also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Marianapolis Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Dexter Southfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Marianapolis Prep will host Cushing Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Penguins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Golden Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dexter Southfield, they are taking a road trip to face off against Worcester Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hilltoppers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Dexter Southfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
