Baseball Recap: Weiser Drops Season-High Score on Mccall-Donnelly

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weiser). They blew past the McCall-Donnelly Vandals 17-1 on Wednesday. With that victory, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Wyatt Black, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He has become a key player for Weiser: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Weston Black, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Weiser was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Weiser is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
