Baseball Recap: Carver Montgomery Comes Up Short

Carver Montgomery lost against Brewbaker Tech back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Carver Montgomery fell just short of Brewbaker Tech by a score of 11-10. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chance Jackson led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Carver Montgomery's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Jordan Wells also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Carver Montgomery's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Brewbaker Tech, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-13.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brewbaker Tech beat Carver Montgomery by a score of 18-11 later that day.
