Basketball Recap: Chester-Joplin-Inverness Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Chester-Joplin-Inverness couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 54-39 bruising from the Fort Benton Longhorns on Monday. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Benton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Truman Giese, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Smith, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Chester-Joplin-Inverness has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season. Fort Benton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Chester-Joplin-Inverness nor Fort Benton have any future games scheduled.
