Basketball Recap: Stamford Beats Darien for Their Third Straight Victory

Stamford extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jordan Sutton. The Stamford Black Knights snuck past the Darien Blue Wave with a 74-69 victory on Friday thanks in part to Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Ryan Connors, who posted 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high.

Stamford now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Darien, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Stamford will challenge Staples at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Staples will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Stamford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Darien, they will square off against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Darien likes a good challenge.
