Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Red Devils vs. Western Reserve Blue Devils

Memorial and Western Reserve are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Red Devils will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Memorial beat Springfield 51-43.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jawaun Johnson, who posted 15 points. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dj Lambert Jr., who had seven points along with six boards and three steals.

Memorial was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 4-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, Western Reserve was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-49 to Girard.

Memorial's record now sits at 6-4. As for Western Reserve, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

Things could have been worse for Memorial, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-38 loss to Western Reserve in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
