 The Springport Spartans posted their closest  victory since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a  57-54  win over Sand Creek.
 Springport found their leader in underclassman  Tucker Wiginton, who  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and 11  rebounds. It was the first time this season that  Wiginton  pulled down eight or more  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jake Kregel, who  scored seven points along with five  rebounds and three  steals.
 Springport is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record  this season. As for Sand Creek, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 9-12.
 Springport didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game, a  60-45  loss vs. Michigan Center on the 20th. Sand Creek has also already played their next match, a  66-64  victory against Vandercook Lake on the 20th.
