Football Recap: Ridgeview Ravens vs. Crescent Valley Raiders

Ridgeview won the last time they faced Crescent Valley, and things went their way on Friday too. The Ridgeview Ravens took down the Crescent Valley Raiders 42-28. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ravens.

Ishon Ortiz was a one-man wrecking crew for Ridgeview as he rushed for 440 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 15.2 yards per carry. Ortiz really tore up the turf during one magnificent 84-yard run.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ridgeview was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 514 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crescent Valley only gained 301.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ridgeview's defense and their six sacks. In that department, Remington Thompson was the leader with two.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Truman Brasfield, who picked up 150 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Zeke Thomas was another key player, throwing for 294 yards and four touchdowns.

Ridgeview's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Crescent Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeview will challenge South Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crescent Valley, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Central/Kings Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crescent Valley is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
