Baseball Game Preview: Hubbertville Lions vs. South Lamar Stallions

Hubbertville is 1-9 against South Lamar since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Lions will welcome the Stallions at 11:00 a.m.

Hubbertville is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 13th on Friday. They lost 13-3 to Hackleburg.

Hubbertville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Brand, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, South Lamar made easy work of Pickens Academy on Friday and carried off a 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Stallions, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

South Lamar has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hubbertville, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
