Softball Recap: Octorara Area Has No Trouble Against Lancaster Mennonite

Octorara Area's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lancaster Mennonite Blazers a 15-0 shutout. The contest marked the Braves' most dominant victory of the season.

Devyn Harrington was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Presley Lazos was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Octorara Area always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Octorara Area pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lancaster Mennonite, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Octorara Area will face off against Daniel Boone at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Lancaster Mennonite, they will venture away from home to square off against Lancaster Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
