Basketball Recap: American Heritage Takes a Loss

American Heritage played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Saint Andrew's Scots and fell 74-41. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Scots recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

American Heritage lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amar?E Stoudemire, who posted seven points and five boards. Stoudemire is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaedon Bailey, who scored seven points.

Saint Andrew's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alex Montes, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Xander Gerard was another key player, going 7 for 9 en route to 18 points.

American Heritage's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Saint Andrew's, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

American Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-35 win against Palm Beach Christian Prep on the 17th. As for Saint Andrew's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-54 defeat against Boyd Anderson on the 18th.
