Baseball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mauldin on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mauldin Mavericks by a score of 3-2. The Rams have struggled against the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for Mauldin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will challenge Mid-Carolina at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mauldin, they will take on St. Joseph's Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
