Recap: Triton Trojans vs. NorthWood Panthers
The Triton Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a rough 52-28 defeat at the hands of NorthWood. Triton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as NorthWood apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
NorthWood was led to victory by Ella Branham and Haylee Heflin. Branham scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds, while Heflin scored 13 points along with 4 steals. Branham is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Payne, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Triton bumped their record down to 1-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for NorthWood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Triton will be playing in front of their home fans against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday. As for NorthWood, they will head out on the road to face off against Warsaw at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Warsaw is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
